Indonesia adopted the Freedom of Information Act (Undang Undang No. 14 Tahun 2008 tentang Keterbukaan Informasi Publik) in 2008, and it came into force two years later on 1 May 2010. The Act provides a legal guarantee for access to information held by public bodies, and requires public bodies to proactively publish information as well as to release information upon request.
AIPD Papua Barat supports the dissemination and socialization about the act to four districts namely Kab.Fak-Fak, Kab. Sorong Selatan, Kab. Manokwari and Kab. Raja Ampat.
